In this role you will design and implement advanced animation tools and pipelines to support high-quality, engine-ready animation for AAA games. You will partner with Animation, Design, and Engineering to troubleshoot in-game animation challenges and push the quality bar. You’ll own challenging projects, mentor teammates, and help shape internal tech and artistic processes. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at Naughty Dog, contributing to iconic titles and a culture of innovation.

Responsabilités

Develop and implement tools to build complex animation systems
Innovate and streamline animation pipelines and workflows
Collaborate with Animation, Design, and Engineering to resolve animation-related issues
Create high-quality animation content and implement it in the engine
Help define and maintain the in-game animation style and quality bar
Own challenging projects, mentor team members, and document processes
Contribute to the strategic development of internal technologies and artistic processes

Principales exigences

5+ years of industry experience in technical animation for games
Proficiency in Python, C#, C++ or equivalent languages
Strong understanding of state machines, blend trees, IK solvers in-game animation tools
Expertise with mocap and keyframe pipelines using Maya or Motionbuilder
Proven track record of creating visually impressive animations for diverse genres
Portfolio or demo reel and potential animation test as part of application process
