As an Online Services Engineer, you will help build a scalable, highly available online services environment for Guerrilla’s game features. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust networking, authentication, matchmaking, and persistence layers, while advancing a zero-downtime deployment system. You will monitor service health and performance, and keep pace with Java ecosystem improvements. This role offers the chance to shape critical online systems used by players and to contribute to a fast-moving, collaborative studio culture in Amsterdam.

Responsabilités

Build and maintain a scalable, highly available online services environment
Develop player systems focused on persistence, safety, retention, and engagement
Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to align with the game’s vision
Develop, test, and maintain a zero-downtime deployment system
Improve instrumentation for monitoring and logging of service health and availability
Work with the Online Infrastructure team to ensure robustness, scalability, and performance
Stay up-to-date with the Java ecosystem and introduce relevant new technologies
Contribute to a healthy on-call rotation

Principales exigences

Java + Spring Boot development experience
Good grasp of software design and architecture, with maintainable and performant code
Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, REST, Message Queuing)
Experience with Git and Perforce
Experience with cloud-native approaches and CI/CD deployments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Helpful, solution-minded approach
Interest in online gaming
