NonStop Consulting AG is seeking an experienced Chief Medical Officer specialising in Clinical Development to join the team of our client.

It is a fast-developing pharmaceutical company with a specific pipeline of new promising products.

Position Overview:

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will lead our client's Clinical Development team. The CMO will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's clinical development strategy, driving the advancement of our pipeline, and ensuring the successful execution of clinical trials.

Some of the Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for all clinical development activities, including protocol design, study conduct, data analysis, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Commercial, to align clinical development plans with overall corporate objectives.
• Oversee the selection and management of external vendors, including clinical research organizations (CROs), consultants, and investigators, to ensure high-quality and timely execution of clinical trials.
• Maintain awareness of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in clinical research, and integrate relevant advancements into development plans.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, representing the company in interactions related to clinical trial design, data interpretation, and regulatory submissions.
• Provide medical and scientific expertise to support business development activities, including evaluation of in-licensing opportunities, due diligence assessments, and partnership negotiations.
• Foster a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, and integrity within the Clinical Development team, promoting professional development and mentorship.

Qualifications:

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with board certification in a relevant speciality; additional advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MBA) preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a proven track record of successful leadership in late-stage clinical trials.
• Several years of experience in a CMO Clinical Development role.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing clinical development strategies across multiple therapeutic areas, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA, ICH).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex scientific and medical information to diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with a collaborative and inclusive approach to team management, mentorship, and talent development.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strategic mindset and a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Location: The right professional can be based anywhere in EU or Switzerland.
